So far, I have discovered the views of President Obama and Mitt Romney on environmental regulation. President Obama wants more regulation on companies regarding air and water pollutants to preserve and protect the environment. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, believes that companies should have less regulation to ensure that they do not have to spend money to meet these environmental standards. I have also learned that environmental regulation does not hurt the economy because it creates new jobs for environmentally cleaner industries. Regulation requires companies to change for the better of the country and the environment.
I plan on answering the following questions:
- How do politics affect the view on climate change?
- Has Hurricane Sandy made the government more aware of the threats of climate change?
- How have loans from the government to clean energy companies helped the green energy industry?
